My friends and I completed the Canol Heritage Trail on the west side of the MacKenzie River, and had arranged for James to pick us up. James was very responsive with our Garmin in reach to arrange a specific time. Unfortunately when we were ready to be picked up, the weather was horrendous. We thought we would be stuck out for another night, but James came during a brief break in the weather late into the evening and we were SO THANKFUL. Thank you!

James took us up the Mackenzie river from Norman Wells to Tulita. We were so happy to experience the Sahtu with him including a hike up Bear Rock and learning about the local culture. We saw incredible views from the top of the hike and all along the way - we loved the beauty of the Bear River and Bear rock! James is a great guide and we would highly recommend Sahtu Adventures. We also also saw spectacular Northern Lights on our visit!

Sahtu Adventures provided us with a top notch jet boat shuttle from the Mountain River's confluence with the Mackenzie River to Norman Wells. He arrived early, helped us load our gear and told us great stories on the ride home! If you are in the Sahtu, James can help make your dream adventure a reality!

Our company was required to do a survey of part of the river bottom on the Great Bear River. We contracted Sahtu Adventures, owned and operated by James McPherson, to provide a jet boat, operator and guide for our work.

We met up with James in Norman Wells where he helped us with our equipment and setting up the boat with our gear. He transported us down to Tulita via the MacKenzie river which was a very informative boat ride and put us in contact with our local support people in Tulita and helped us throughout the whole project.

We found his local knowledge of the town, the Great Bear River and the land around the Great Bear invaluable. I would recommend him and his company for any adventure tours or work activities that someone may be contemplating in the area.

I intend to use Sahtu and James on any activities that we are conducting on or in the Mackenzie River valley in and around Norman Wells and Tulita.
