Moved to La Broquerie 10 years ago with the idea of getting into a small town vibe to raise our children. However dealing with this municipality is atrocious!. Bylaws are fluesy, they patch things instead of fixing them and continuously raise taxes for the same shotty outcome year after year. I've seen a mass exodus in the last 3 years of longtime 3-4 generation families that raised families here move due to the increase in BS and no solutions. Prepping our home for sale and joining suit.

DO YOUR HOMEWORK BEFORE CONSIDERING TO INVEST OR MOVE HERE!

If you live in, as I do, or ever have travelled on the terrible gravel roads/trails in the RM of LaBroquerie, specifically Loewen Blvd from and including Cottonwood Drive going west to Steinbach, especially after a rain or snow, you’re guaranteed to have a bad experience. We have travelled thousands of miles in Canada and the USA and these roads are consistently the worst. Communicating with the RM Public Works Dept to have them fix these roads, it feels hopeless. The grader they send doesn’t fix the problem. I wouldn’t have given them 1 star if that had been an option

If you like a government that stonewalls and works diligently in avoiding, fairness, openness and transparency, La Broquerie is for you.
If you like high taxes with very little services, rural La Broquerie is the place to be.

Recently bought land there. Have lived there all my life. Screwed up names with roll numbers. Taxed me for wrong quarters of land. When you talk to the people at front desk. As stuck up as can be. No help when you have questions. Ohh and a ridiculous mil rate.
