I got charged for 2 hours for a 15-20 minute court appearance, but my last straw was when I asked my lawyer to do something and she never did so I honestly started feeling like I was just throwing my money away, she wasn’t much of a fighter on my behalf so I decided to let her go.
I had money left in my retainer and when I signed papers to confirm I asked for the remaining balance and the secretary told me she would write me a cheque of what was left on my retainer. I get a email days later of a bill showing my lawyer was taking what was left of the retainer from firing her .
