I engaged the services of Northern Connections Canada Immigration (NCCI) at a time when I was ready to call it quits on the whole process. I started my journey in 2019 using another immigration service provider. Through that process, I entered Express Entry during the pandemic. That in and of itself was unfortunate, but the numbers were insufficient anyway. The recommendation from this service provider was not feasible, and without any additional help, I applied to several post-graduate programs and was rejected.

Fast forward to 2023, a friend shared that NCCI was hosting information sessions in Jamaica. I looked at the cost to attend and figured, why not? Kay Wilson, principal of NCCI, started her presentation by stating, “This is a marathon, not a sprint.” Her perspective was right on point. After further thought and an initial consultation, I decided to engage the services of NCCI. I shared all the factors working against me, including two previous visitor visa denials, financial limitations and an age consideration.

Kay Wilson outlined the best course of action, and I decided to give it a go one more time. NCCI presented a strong case, and in August 2024, I received a positive response. I have found NCCI to be transparent and honest while providing exceptional customer service. There is no inflation of expectations, but a very methodological approach. The thing is, even if the response was not positive, I would have been happy with NCCI’s advocacy. It has been money well spent.

Northern Connections Canada was great. I have to give the receptionist two thumbs up for ALWAYS answering the phone, she never missed a beat with that. Customer service at its finest. The associate, Dionne, who dealt with the file was wonderful as well. She was professional, sweet and patient all through out. I cannot leave out Kay Wilson. Even though she wasn't dealing with the file directly; whenever I had a question or concern, she was always there to help, no matter what.
