Paul Govenlock from Long Family Group - Beware of this lawyer!! He is honestly the worst family lawyer/ advocate out there. He claims to do collaborative approach but he actually does not know what he is doing. He wasted over $8000 of my retainer. He does not take the advice of the appointed or chosen therapist but instead makes his own decisions, acting like a judge and then states that he’s helping and understands his clients when he does the complete opposite. He is ok with the other party breaching a parenting order and not following the law. This lawyer is biased and unprofessional and should get disbarred. He got in the way of my mediation with a psychologist and goes way above his limitations. He is an awful lawyer and if you get him through legal aid please change lawyers. All he does is take Legal Aid certificates, and prolongs your case. Does not get updates on your child when that is his job!

The Long Family Law Group LLP is a Fantastic Law Office. Everyone I encountered was very friendly and professional. The office itself was very clean and really organized. I was very fortunate to have Bruce Reid as my divorce lawyer. I felt Bruce Reid represented me to the best of his abilities and the end result was very good. Bruce Reid made me feel very comfortable and is Amazing at his job. He was also very good at explaining difficult question's and issues through out the divorce. I truly respected the way Bruce Reid broke down how he billed you for his time. Bruce Reid's billing was very clear and easy to understand. I give Bruce Reid 5 Stars and I would recommend him to anyone going through a divorce.

Linda has been an active and helpful force for the family law bar in Edmonton for decades, and her thoughtful and client centered approach has infused the firm and the other lawyers. I have had Collaborate or litigation files with Linda, Bruce, Mark, Paul and Kimberley and found them all to be zealous advocates for their clients, and yet still practical and solution focused. Beware of overly litigious lawyers who focus on "winning" at all costs. You won't find those lawyers at Long Family Law. You will find lawyers who recognize listening and exploring different solutions, and who will get the job done better, faster, and cheaper.
