Just called this line for advice as they were referred to me and I have never been spoken so down to or rudely in my life. This service is of no use at all, just an arrogant lawyer who assumed he knew what he was saying and wouldn’t even listen to the correct problem or advise in anyway. Useless

The Legal Information Line of Nova Scotia is a not-for-profit organization making FREE legal advice accessible to all at the touch of a button! Although they are not able to represent you in court, they are able to provide the answers you need and advice on how to move forward. I spoke personally with a very knowledgeable gentleman who left me feeling much relief after our conversation. Thank you to all at the LILNS. I would highly recommend this service to anyone seeking answers to legal questions or advice regarding the court process etc. Very impressed. I was able to speak directly with someone in a matter of seconds. The LILNS operates via text, phone, email and live chat making it extremely easy to speak with an experienced and capable lawyer at the touch of a button!

Took a little while to get a hold of someone, as could be expected from a free service, but once I got through the agent was friendly and patient as I explained my situation and asked questions, and provided thorough information. Would definitely recommend this service!

This is an absolutely amazing service. The individuals who answer calls and emails are very knowledgeable and pleasant to talk to. They even have a live chat option! Although they cannot offer advice they do have a very useful referral service. Although, both times I have used the service I went in thinking I would need to see a lawyer and the people were so helpful that I left the conversation with other alternatives that I did not know even existed. Highly recommend !

My 4 star rating is NOT based on my call today, please see below.
This information line can be extremely helpful. Although not able to offer advice, it can be very helpful as an aid to understanding how the system works allowing a person to be better prepared for legal matters... IF you get the right person. Unfortunately not all those that answer the phone are helpful, but please try back and give them another chance... not all of those that answer the phone interrupt you constantly, insist on talking all over you and treat you with disrespect, assuming they "know where you are going with this". That person should not be answering their phones and hopefully will be dealt with, but the others are pleasant to deal with. If my rating was based on today's call it would have been less than one star, but overall this line has been useful over the years for issues involving family law and a couple other civil proceedings.

Lucky if you can ever get someone to answer your call. Been calling since January 13, no one ever answers and there is no option for voice mail or for another alternative of speaking with someone who could direct you in the right direction for inquiries. Poor service, Nova Scotia....
