Having lived/earned in the US for half the year and Canada for the other half, I knew I would need to find an accountant competent in navigating the intricacies of tax regulations on both sides. Spencer Leakey ended up being my savior- his deep understanding of the most up-to-date tax regulations in both countries and how they intermingle, combined with his friendliness, efficiency, and outstanding communication, put my mind at ease and made the whole experience a very pleasant one (which I never thought I'd say about getting my taxes done!). Leakey & Lewicki's office staff is also very friendly, helpful, and effective. The firm's online portal system is super convenient- I love that you can go back and access tax documents if need be. Honestly, you won't find a better firm to meet your accounting needs both on the Island and abroad- highly recommend!

Admittedly confused Canadians in need of help with our U.S. returns, we found Leakey and Lewicki online. From an initial email, Spencer demonstrated in-depth expertise in problem solving and navigating our tax quandary at both state and federal levels. After both my parents passed away, I didn’t want to handle the tax returns myself as executor of both estates so I brought them to Leakey and Lewicki where they were handled by Spencer Leakey. Spencer is extremely knowledgeable, had really helpful advice and spent a ton of time answering my questions. He was also really patient and understanding when I had difficulty locating the necessary paperwork to complete the tax returns. Dealing with estates is a super stressful experience but Spencer’s professionalism and competent, friendly staff actually made dealing with the tax portion the easiest part of the whole estate process.

We are required to submit both a Canadian and a US tax return annually. In years past we were using our US tax accountant, as well as a Canadian accountant here in Canada. It was expensive and not well coordinated, because of the separation between the two organizations. We had the good fortune of meeting Spencer Leakey prior to this tax season. He took over both returns, processed them quickly and efficiently, and saved us a significant amount of money. He was ready to answer any questions that we had, resolved some outstanding questions that had concerned us for some time, was extremely knowledgeable and very pleasant to work with. The staff was also very helpful. We strongly recommend him and his firm, Leakey and Lewicki Ltd.
