STAY AWAY!!!

On the day of closing, I reviewed the calculations for a final closing amount. I found a number of mistakes in the calculations, which caused the closing amount to be off by a few thousands. I brought it to their attention, and they made mistakes again while correcting the initial mistakes. No attention to detail at all.

I needed Gabriel's confirmation that status certificate was okay. He had the documents for two weeks, and I didn't hear anything from him. On the day of the expiry, I had to call him six times to get ahold of him to get his response. I started calling around 10am and he returned my call by 7pm.

Literally, two hours before the meeting with Gabriel, he announces that I need to get home insurance to proceed with closing. So, I had to scramble to find coverage literally hours before the meeting with him. Why did he wait until last minute to tell me this?

When I brought this up to Gabriel during our meeting, he became extremely defensive and sarcastically dismissed the mistakes he made. I was extremely close to walking out, but that would delay my closing. He pretty much gestured air quotes when saying 'I am sorry' and how none of it was his fault. It was extremely disrespectful.

I recommend to stay away from this person. There are better lawyers out there. Buying a property is stressful enough, you don't need extra work/stress with this guy. I paid all this money for his services and got treated like garbage.
