Teri seems very money minded, she is in this field to make money instead help vulnerable landlords. Her invoices include made up hours to over charge a client for a simple matter. Go with Teri if you have too much money and looking to get ripped off.

Is Teri competent? Possibly. I didn't get too far with her as it was costing me extremely high just to talk to her. Teri sent me an invoice of $2000+ for discussing a simple case of non payment of rent, writing a formal letter/email and filling L1. Not N4, just L1 and some questions regarding the lease. She claimed that there were 53 emails back and forth, but there were only 23, less than half of the number she stated. Most of my emails were just me repeating myself as I was highly anxious about the situation.

She then sent me an invoice of 400+ for writing one formal email.

Her retainer states that she charges for formal emails only, case prep before hearing and filing applications, however, her invoices include any meager or mundane email you send her way, or any phone call you make to her, basically you have to pay each time you talk to her but this is not mentioned in her retainer. I paid the first invoice without putting up much of a fight as I was extremely stressed and anxious.

I disputed the invoice afterwards but she has declined to correct her pricing so it can match the retainer.

There are many other highly competent paralegals who will work with you at a fair rate. I worked with another solo recommended paralegal, Jordan Niewuhof, who helped with the entire process from start to end for a fraction of the cost.

To sum it up, I am not saying that Teri is not comptent, she probably is, but she will take advantage of your stressful situation and charge you very heavily, you will be out thousands, THOUSANDS, working with her.

Edit: your invoice does not match your retainer. I have it all in writing, you specifying that you only charge for formal emails but then actually charging for all the informal emails. I did not ask for discounts, I asked for clarification due to the steep amount of the invoice. "Discount" and "clarification" are two separate words, I am sure you understand that.

You can not bully me by threatening to take me to collections, you do what you have to do and I will do what I have to do, I have a paper trail. I am disputing the invoice as it does not match the retainer nor your breakdown. It was 23 emails, not 53 and second time it was 4 emails and not 19. You are literally just making up numbers to rip me off.

Give me my refund for the "20" emails.

Teri is extremely detailed with her work, she also explains everything so we all have a clear understanding of what to expect so we aren’t surprised during our court hearing via zoom.
