For buying a property, we used Jennifer McCarthy Notary at the seller’s request. Looking back, we would have booked another notary. It was not a smooth experience. I had to call them few times to follow up on my case and was not provided with the proper paperwork when required.

If you want to make an easy and uncomplicated transaction, I would consider hiring another notary.

Notary McCarthy and her staff seem to have no sense of urgency when it comes to matters involving significant transactions such as the sale of one’s home. It took almost two weeks to resolve an issue because they would not make a phone call to my bank, relying on emails that went unanswered. Does no one use a phone anymore? This inexcusable delay in getting the proceeds from our home sale forced us to use a line of credit to finance a home purchase at significant personal financial cost in interest. Notary McCarthy’s staff was full of excuses, blaming the bank for not responding to emails. Staff was extremely rude to my wife on multiple occasions when she tried to get information about the delays. Not impressed at all.

All communications were professional and courteous, and they were able to meet our schedule on quite short notice, without anything feeling rushed.

Several times we had questions and clarification, and Liz was gracious to answer our questions and all follow-ups.

Upon signing, everything was clear and well-communicated, and we felt welcome and taken care of.

It was just a genuinely good and professional experience.

We feel so blessed having Ms. Jennifer Mc Carthy as our Notary. It was a bumpy road purchasing our house and she helped us make it through! Very professional, explained things well and her “aura” was so good!! Talking to her was so therapeutic (even during the first meeting) and all the stress that we had during the process just fade away as we step out her office. McCarthy, and her Assistant almost ruined my transaction, and created a COMPLICATED process, where it could have been extremely simple. They had the best price but, late in the process, demanded other documents that "only we" could create = ++$. The Assistant was extremely rude to me, and I decided to pay double elsewhere, stating that "I would no longer require their services", to which I never received a response....just another passive-agressive final step in a relationship. Trust the reviews here, stating that this notary creates complications where there should be none. When things went South, I remembered reading/ignoring concerning reviews, that turned out to be right-on.

This notary just revealed a private detail (e-signatures) regarding my transaction (with another notary) in a reply to my original review above, and this is the first communication that I have received since terminating the mandate... You be the judge.

Jennifer McCarthy was wonderful. They were ready to take me as a client one week before my condo signing after a bad experience with another notary. The receptionists were informative and ready to help. Always in a good mood. The signing went excellent and she had our best interest in mind. I would definitely go here again. Thank you!
