I have had two situations that found myself inquiring to this firm. They are all about money. They insist on pay up front. That way, when they can’t help you have already paid. One time was 300 to be told within 5 minutes that they could not help me. And this time was help filling out a form. No actual legal representation just someone ensuring I do not mess up the form. I was quoted 575-661 dollars. Maybe if I rob a bank I’ll be able to afford and justify the cost for their help.

Well in person was amazing we just did the 15 min Quickie marriage (wedding was next day; unrealted). Very kind in-person and atmosphere was professional. On the other hand emailing was short and snappy. I also sent them our driver licenses 2 seperate times as they kept requesting it as well as in-person 1 time, then was asked again to email it. Whatever I can deal with that, was just strange.

My biggest issue: our statement marriage (we only have the one and it's quite important). We provided our driver licenses 3 times, and they spelt your names wrong twice? They covered it in white out and still wrote it wrong! (This is our very important legal document) It was so bad SNB wasn't able to accept it to change my name. They were able to accept it to get the marriage certificate for us luckily as it's in SNBs system correctly but they said it was quite unprofessional on J Donovan Laws part.

We gave them a lot of money for 15 minutes... they couldn't have double checked the spelling after the first time they made the mistake?

Do not rely on the ratings of this firm when choosing your representation. It relies heavily marketing strategies to gain new clientele and incentivizes the public to vote and make reviews that are deceitful and misleading and do not represent authentic experiences with this firm which should be your first red flag. You will be asked to sign a retainer agreement that states you agree to all sorts of things that aren’t accurate and pay a $10,000 +tax retainer fee minimum in trust on top of your $360 consultation fee before you can receive representation. The retainer will disappear quickly and a third party review of the bills will be required if you want explanations as the firm does not respond to requests for itemized statements or explanations of charges. Make sure you do your complete due diligence with this firm, as their ethics are questionable and they breach the professional code of conduct for lawyers in NB. Your money will likely be more valuable with another firm who can and will provide better service with more ethical business practices. I am a low income single mother and I paid this firm $11,860 to represent me in a high conflict custody case with existing family violence. Their advertising had me believe this firm was the best chance I could give my son for safety. When I inquired about my custody order weeks after a 1 day settlement conference, I was asked to pay an additional retainer. When I requested explanations of the charges and a review of the billing, my requests were ignored and then I was offered $1000 refund and was blocked on all of their social media platforms so that I could not provide an honest review. They sent me a copy of my court order in the mail on letter sized paper, with missing pages including the most important page signed by the judge.
Beware when doing business with this firm. Their all women empowerment front is a facade, they did not empower me, they misled me and only cared about the cheque at the end of the day.
