If I could give -5 stars I would. Stephanie Simard was 20min late to the fully paid hour consultation. During the consultation I was offered an extensive plan to accomplish my legal needs no matter how long it took. I was told all the amazing things she would be doing to get the job done starting with the easiest, quickest option but, knowing it would be a bigger battle. I made it clear that funds were going to be a concern and I had no time to waste as a single mother but, wanted to move forward. Never once was i told that there was any possibility that Stephanie wouldn’t be able to service my legal needs for as long as it took. Even though she knew even at the initial consultation that she would be taking a planned leave within 2 months of that consultation. Leaving me to lose time and money and have to start all over with a new lawyer. During those 2 months the only thing that got accomplished was a simple short letter being served on my behalf. Also, at the consultation she took a photocopy of confidential documents and I was asked to provide those documents a second time because she lost the first copy. Obviously, knowing I was in for a long battle I never would’ve picked someone leaving work in 2 months. I was tricked and taken advantage of. Do your research and take the time to find a lawyer that is not just out for your money.

I will write this review as factual as possible to avoid getting threatened by a lawsuit: This law firm (more specifically, one of their lawyers named Jonathan Collings) utilized intimidation tactics to try to get me to remove a short Google Maps review of a local business. Based on their initial threat last year, I personally questioned their ethics, but after getting the same threat by them again more than a year later, I was prompted to write this review. I would use this law firm if I needed someone to "play dirty" for me.

I was referred to this office. They couldn’t even bothered to return the call. Must be too busy. When I followed up was really just brushed off. If this is the way they would deal with a direct referral into their business I would not be interested. Do yourself a favour move on to another law office there are lots to choose from. To be fair it was a specific lawyer but she is a partner according to the website

OCL beware. If assigned to children as an OCL lawyer in family representation. She is easily persuaded by other the other parties.
Family court in Lanark County, is like revisiting the Wild West. (As stated by a law firm in the city) Ottawa lawyers have been quoted, “There should be a mass exodus”! (If family court is expected)
