We received an amazing service from Nick Poon. While a court case (dispute regarding the selling of our house) is always a stressful situation, Nick succeeded to continously reassure us throughout the process by providing excellent and thoughful guidance as well as thorough explanation. I reached out to this law firm for a consultation but was very disappointed with the initial interaction. The receptionist who called me back to schedule a consultation was unprofessional and rude, lacking basic customer service skills. Her arrogance and dismissive attitude completely turned me away from working with this firm. First impressions matter, and this firm lost a potential client due to poor treatment at the intake stage. I would recommend they invest in training their staff on professional and courteous client service.

Josef Finkel and Gilbertson Davis LLP firm were extremely helpful in assisting Darwin collect on our behalf and would definitely recommend using their services. They are professional, quick to respond, clear and concise communication, they know the Canadian laws well and processes in order to make it a successful case. Called to seek legal advice, was greeted with a coordinator. Coordinator instantly advised if monetary damages of $150,000 or more was not the case, they wouldn't be of any help. As well as a retainer of $10,000 would be required.
Not a great way to attract or help potential clients.

John and his team did an AMAZING job for me. It took 5.5 years to get through the whole thing, but when it was all said and done, my firm was relieved and thrilled with the result. We contacted Gilbertson Davis for a litigation matter.
In the beginning they were very helpful, repeating every email that untill the payment was provided they were not retained.
Finally we provided the payment and signed the contract and they told us out of the blue that some lawyers have gone away (2 in one month!) and they did not have a lawyer that could assist us.
Moreover they did not accept our retainer for some reasons (they could have accepted and sent back the next day) and we took 20 days to receive it back from our bank after their refusal.
Finding a good lawyer in Ontario is very difficult, but after this stressful experience I will not recommend this Firm.
