I took my son here yesterday to have his eyes checked because he is having some issues with his vision and has been having headaches. I have been bringing him here since he was a baby to have his regular checkups and have never left disappointed, but this time it was different. I felt like we were dismissed very quickly and that Dr Chin was almost annoyed by us being there. He also did absolutely nothing to make my son feel comfortable when he had to have dilation drops put into his eyes as well. I left there with basically no answers and was told that there would be a prescription for my son on file and I could fill it if I wanted to. I was taken very aback by his attitude and bed side manners. I will not be returning there for any further appointments and have already made an appointment to have a second opinion because I feel as if that appointment was a complete waste of time.

What a positive experience! From the welcoming nature of the ladies up front, to the optometrist himself (Dr Chin) that explained what was going on with my vision and was so personable and lovely put me completely at ease. And then after getting my prescription, I believe it was Wendy that assisted me in choosing my new glasses of which they had a wonderful selection! I have a small face and most regular sized adult glasses tend to overwhelm it. Other places I’ve been to usually have just a handful of smaller framed glasses for me to pick from. I wasn’t sure before making my appointment if I should make the trip to Edmonton assuming they would have a larger selection for me. But I’m a big proponent of supporting local. As it turns out I didn’t need to worry as I ended up with at least 10 pairs on my shortlist which is unheard of. There were even more that were small enough. Wendy was great at helping me whittle down my favourites and was so friendly and kind. All in all super happy with my experience at FYidoctors and will for sure be recommending them.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at the eye Dr today:). The entire staff was friendly and knowledgeable and helped me answer all of my questions and concerns. My appointment was on time and thorough and I found the perfect pair of glasses with the help of Julie:). Thanks ladies for the great experience today. 10/10 recommend them.

So happy with my experience. I called early afternoon after spending the day half blind, lost my glasses. The lady at the front desk went and spoke with the doctor and they squeezed me in late afternoon. The ladies up front were wonderful and very helpful. Good selection of frames! Doctor was also exceptionally great! Very grateful for them today and would highly recommend this business to anyone needing an eye exam or new frames! Very accommodating, Dr.Chin and the ladies up front are wonderful!

On Feb 28,2024 I went to the office and asked about converting my 2 year old Nike prescription sunglasses to non-prescription sunglasses. I told them I was aware there could be a charge for the black lenses. I explained that the reason for changing out my lenses is that I no longer have a prescription and would like to continue to use my expensive frames. I heard no response by phone or email. On March 8 I sent an email to the Drayton Valley office email reintegrating my first visit and asking for someone to get back to me. I have not received any response. My wife and I have spent a great deal of money at this location in the last 3 years and received great service while we were getting eye exams and buying glasses. I have looked on Amazon and found replacement lenses for my specific frames but would rather spend the money at the location I bought them from. March 19. Thank you for the phone call explaining the protocol with prescription / non prescription sunglasses.

The staff here are just so wonderful. They are friendly, efficient, and so helpful. Dr. Chin is a great optometrist, friendly and thorough. And Wendy made my first time picking glasses very fun!
