I am utterly appalled at this firm’s lack of professionalism, decorum and respect for clients and dictatorial attitude towards legal representation.
They attempted to leave me in a terribly vulnerable position legally due to their incompetence, insecurity and fear of opposing counsel that is unconscionable.
Stéphanie Hérbert was proven to be incorrect on multiple occasions in the proceedings after ignoring me and brushing me aside and I had to demand that she stop insulting me every single time we spoke after the initial consultation.
She had zero empathy and kept adding insult to injury to a client doing everything he can and in the midst of experiencing anguish and psychological distress that is nothing short of sociopathic.
Her personal view of what is proper behaviour or otherwise is not appropriate to bring into the proceedings. She is not a judge, she is a lawyer representing a paying client and she doesn’t understand that.
In response to my very reasonable inquiries for her legal expertise to help me understand the situation and how to employ the most rigorous defense, the ever-ready-to-reprimand Me Hérbert met me with, “I urge you to have a little bit of introspection. These types of emails that you send me make me believe that you do not have any.”
That is indefensible. It seems she was implying that my belief that I should have a thorough and vigorous defense shows a lack of introspection on my part. Don’t I see that I deserve what the court has ordered? How can I possibly argue?
Louis Dessureault is also no less blameworthy as at the first sign of my having a dissenting opinion from his he got visibly red in the face and began yelling at me over a Teams call. He also seems to be of the opinion that he is in judgement of me as my lawyer as opposed to being my representative legally.
They failed to respond to multiple letters from the adverse party over multiple weeks which I was then taken to task for by the judge in the next hearing who included that fact in his very negative view of how the file was handled when writing his judgement - his rebuke was included as it’s own paragraph in the judgement. They of course never had to have any accountability on that fact because they cut bait and left me with out a lawyer three days before a very contentious court proceeding.
Work with these lawyers if you want procedural robots incapable of mustering more than miserable to zero strategy on your behalf, who are deferential to everyone - including the adverse party - except you as the client, who believe talking down to and outright insulting you is the best version of communication and who are willing to threaten you on the day documents are due for court and leave you with no attorney for a hearing in a week where custody of your children is at stake. And for what reason? Because you as the client have feedback and a request to be more vigorously advocated for by your attorney. They are unable to have a conversation or put you at ease as a client in any way shape or form - their communication methods are terrible and make a situation where everyone can certainly come to an agreement something impossible. They see the client as beneath them and someone they should exclusively tell what to do - not someone to build consent with on a legal strategy the client can feel comfortable with as the person who will be ultimately living with the consequences of the court’s decision. All they can do is explain procedure and tell you to allow yourself to have no boundaries with and be bullied by the adverse party.
Now they are trying to get empty 5 star reviews to launder their Google profile and deceive people who need competent representation.
