My experience with Custom Accounting has been a very good one. I have dealt primarily with Liliia and it has been an absolute pleasure for me. It is never easy to deal with Canada Revenue. Custom Accounting has taken the sting out the tail for me.

Asked for months to get my taxes assessed and been waiting for over a year. Asked for meetings nothing happens needed to discuss integration of business assets we will call back never did asked for a bill never got it. If you value your money I would use different service because these guys are very slow to react and get anything done. (Staff is nice and helpful) But that doesn't help the CRA knocking on your door and you got nothing to give them(after repeated expressions of CRA is knocking on the door fell of dead ears it seems ).

I hired Custom Bookkeeping & Tax Services in 2023 because my taxes were complicated and beyond my ability to do alone. I met with Tricia prior and she assured me that they understood how to do them properly.

They did not do them properly. This quite correctly triggered a CRA reassessment, so I once again reached out for assistance, since this wasn't a mistake I was capable of fixing. I received assurance that it would be taken care of.

Several months later, I received a call from CRA collections, because they did not, in fact, take care of it. I tried to contact Tricia at this point to find out what was going on, but none of my emails or phone messages were returned. In fact, I am still waiting for this company to take responsibility for their mistake.

I'm writing this review now because it has taken me until today to finally resolve the issues with the return that I hired Custom Bookkeeping & Tax Services for. In my opinion, it will save you money in the long run to get your taxes done correctly the first time (by someone else).

I have a rush year end needed for a bank loan. John was very fast assessing the files and told me he could get it done. John and his team worked very hard. He sends and replies emails over the weekend or evenings. Very pleased to work with him.

UPDATE: office called asking if I saw that the reassessment had been processed & I was getting refund that they had worked to get me. I corrected her saying no, you incorrectly filed that I owed, I came back to show your preparer what she had missed, resulting in reassessment and refund. She refused to accept or agree that they erred. She then asked if I would remove my negative reviews! No apology nor acknowledgment of their mistake so no - I will not remove my review.

Disappointed & won’t use service again. I’m a retiree, had 2 T4As, medical & donations. That’s it. But my preparer missed my income tax deduction from work pension. I’m now sitting here having to pay over $3000 when I should be getting small refund. But I have to pay while waiting for reassessment to avoid fees & interest from CRA! Sick to my stomach.

Not sure how these other people had such good experiences. The entire time i was with Tricia she ignored me and left all my stuff until last minute and did as little as possible. Then when we tried to move accountants she ignored multiple professional attempts over many weeks from the new agency to transfer my previous year's returns. Only after more phone calls did we get a minimal response.

I'm a guy that likes to support the small business owner. Especially in these times where the world seems to be killing the small guy. I am from Yorkton, and sought out someone who I could support and work with, especially remotely.

No small business is without weirdness sometimes, and Tricia and her crew are not immune to that either. We had a hiccup or two, but in the end, everyone left smiling with the job done.

We didn't have simple tax returns. With rental properties, multiple full and part time incomes, and self employed earnings, Nav from the Regina office, handled it in stride. She got all our information from the Google Drive storage location I provided, got my, my wife's and my daughter's returns done in a timely manner.

Well done crew. I will be doing business with them again.
