A very upsetting experience for a first time home buyer for something that should exciting. Cowle law was highly recommended to us, and is to many. Our experience with cheryl was poor - she is hard to connect with, not pleasant to speak with and we felt dropped the ball on our house closing. Everyone involved pointed fingers at each other for the delays and stress and confusion and quite literally yelled at eachother with me in the middle of it. We are lucky our house closed on time, but the stress of it all being told we could be sued for others negligence is unacceptable. I hope that nobody experiences what we experienced. I sat for 5 hours outside of the office on closing day attempting to call between everyone to have our mortgage instructions sent and in the end of it all with delays becuase of minor details, the details of the papers STILL dont match our mortgage, so all of the stress was for nothing. I don't feel like as first time home buyers we were supported or instructed properly and simply expected to know and be okay with everything. It was nearly 2 months after the house closed that we recieved our documents and we had to contact the office many times, along with our realtor asking and our mortgage agent asking for them. I wish in all of this it is possible to work directly with the lawyer and not purely with the assistant. There is virtually no way to talk to the lawyer directly, and i feel that could have helped us with how poorly our mortgage was handled. We had guarantors for our mortgage, and they were told a few days before the deadline they needed private lawyers to sign (according to their lawyer, they did not need this anyway) and had to find someone within 2 days and pay a ton for rushed fees becuase nobody was told they had to. So many issues i could be here all day writing them out. Food for thought when choosing a lawyer. I do see reviews for other assistants that they had good experiences with though.
