I feel it's necessary to explain as I'm frustrated and now seeking a new lawyer. Barbara seemed great at first and concerned at first...I gave 1500 to start. NOTHING literally has been done for me. We started going through my details income and child support and selling of my house, etc etc oh excuses the whole way it's coming onto a year
Went weeks at a time with no answers and never there
NO court date I'm better off representing myself I guess

Got NOWHERE
Nothing has been done though it seemed at 1st
Oh Im working on it....crickets crickets
Crickets
Then promised court dates and no more fees
Then told she needed more money
I showed email saying I don't need to pay anymore
Then no answers anytime I msg

I'm DONE
You're better off lighting your money on fire

Barbara, I'm really frustrated I feel I've been ripped off completely and have been suffering all this time. Who else I complain to?

Barb is a wonderful lawyer.
I find some of these other reviews odd as I have never had an issue with papers being filed or anything else.
Barb has also taken the time to help me with other issues, in which I won, that were not related to my family court case.
I highly recommend her as a lawyer

I gave Barbara the benefit of the doubt, yet sadly I too had a horrible experience.

If you have to challenge the status quo, or the opposing parties lies, then strap up and get ready to deal with insanity. Lazy lawyers too unwilling to challenge anything but happy to take your money until it gets time to file in court and actually work.

Perhaps transgressing the law is the only avenue for those that are less than rich who are taken advantage of by people like this.

I am waiting for my $1500 back from this lawyer as she is incapable of determining proper legal strategy, which in my case, is pretty clear, given the facts of the matters.

I do not recommend at all.

By the way, as per Googles policy, I have reported the fraudulent reviews. Sheila McKillop is actually Barbaras legal assistant who works out of the same office. As this is a conflict of interest, such nonsense constitutes a fraudulent claim/review. One cannot have their own employees writing 4-star reviews for their company that they both work for this is a clear breach of policy.

UPDATE 12/03/2022:

Barbara sent me a letter claiming things that aren't true. We did not agree to any consult, she's literally done zero work for me. Yet instead of returning my money, as agreed in a recorded conversation, she is proceeding to attempt to steal from us. She did literally nothing in court, or out of court, for us, yet she expects us to pay $700 for nothing? She is out of her mind.

You want to try to take advantage of us Barbara?

Then we will see you in court.

she’s amazing! All these other reviews I find odd. She will tell you how things are and most people can’t handle that. If you want your kids be ready todo some leg work. She’s a great lawyer and I highly encourage you to use her

Does not file paperwork...takes your money with not giving you a receipt ... Do not use this lawyer I had hopes now all I have is nightmares ... I haven't seen my daughter in almost a year .... That's the representation I received

Terrible - hired her over a month ago and can’t get a court date out of her or a phone call back or e mail / if your a legal aid client don’t bother she won’t care about your case at all !!!!
