When I arrived at the office for my scheduled appointment I was met at the reception by a staff member insisting that my appointment was scheduled for the next day. I found it odd that they insisted I was wrong, rather than simply apologizing for the mixup, especially seeing as the scheduling information is documented in our email exchanges. Luckily the person working at the reception was able to notarize my form. It was also odd that they did not accept any form of card payment as this was not information relayed to me upon booking my appointment, luckily I had cash on hand.
In the end, I'm just happy I didn't have to go back the next day (the date my appointment was not booked for) to get my business taken care of.
Overall, a weird experience.

We inherited Les Bunning through my late aunt. She has used Les to write her will way back when.

We, my mother (the executor) and I did not have a pleasant experience with Mr. Bunning.

He talked nice, but he charged us for literally every, single, question. He was offended that we were using a realtor to sell the house. As a quick note, neither myself nor my mother live in or near Ottawa and our base is over 7 to 8 hours away.

He failed to realize , after we told him multiple times, that we needed to handle everything from afar and needed to get out of Ottawa once we had our business finished - aka once the house was cleaned, repaired and put on the market. We needed the realtor to handle the house for us.

We asked us to get us to payout the liens on my Aunt's house, he questioned us why. After a bit of nagging, he consented but did minimal work. *I* did all the legwork : the calling, the negotiations for the liens and was the liaison between the Executor and the lien holder.

The only positive we have, as we cannot put 0 stars, is that he managed to probate the will in 2 weeks, which we have deemed a small miracle.

The only reason it has taken us so long to write this review as we are *still* handling my aunt's estate as we speak.

If we had to go through this again, we would pick a different lawyer.

I appreciated how easy Greg Farnand made everything for me as my mother had just passed away and I had to sell her house in a short amount of time. The sale was completed almost seamlessly as what could have been so much extra stress. A great value, and strong fiduciary to my interests as a novice seller. I strongly recommend his services!

I filled out all the paper work they asked me to do and never heard back despite sending follow up emails and popping into the office. I asked them to please communicate to me what was going on, if there was a problem with the paper work or if he changed his mind and didn't want to work with me. They led me on telling me that he was just busy. I haven't heard anything back. If you are looking for a lawyer, I would recommend looking somewhere else.

No nonsense, practical legal advice at excellent prices. Les Bunning has been our real estate lawyer for several house purchases over the years. He has also helped us with other legal matters. He and his staff are knowledgeable, easy to work with, and detail - oriented. We couldn't recommend them more highly.

Greg handled both the sale of my existing home and the purchase of a new one. He was extremely professional, thorough, and courteous. He is also an excellent communicator. Fees were very fair. If you need a real estate lawyer I highly recommend his services. I have not used his firm for other areas he practices in, but if real estate is any indication, I would expect excellent service at competitive rates.
