I am a landlord and we gave our tenants two months notice to move out because we wanted to live in the house ourselves. One year and eleven months after they moved out, the tenant sent me a hearing notice from the RTB. The tenant suspected that we were not living in the house ourselves and asked me to pay $27,000 and 12 months rent. I consulted two other lawyers and finally found a lawyer, Arash Ehteshami, through a friend's recommendation. Arash was very professional, witty, concise, and refuted the other party at the hearing, leaving everyone speechless. In the end, we won. I would like to express my sincerest thanks to Arash. Wish I could give Arash 10 stars!
We found Arash online and based on previous reviews, decided to set up an initial consultation. To our surprise and sheer delight, he was familiar with our problem tenant, which made everyone’s job much easier. ( for context - this tenant was evicted from FOUR separate residences within a span of 9 months - bringing disputes against all landlords looking for financial compensation ).
Arash is a stickler for detail and for process. He is knowledgeable, confident and personable. He helped us win one dispute (the warm up with same tenant ) and I have every faith that he will again succeed in delivering us out of this hellish mess.
As a post script...Arash helped guide us through a lengthy and complex case, winning every dispute this tenant brought against us (2) as well as a Monetary Order for damages, which will soon be en route to Small Claims Court.
