We have used this notary in september 2019 and explained to the notary the mortgage will be multiple disbursements due to the renovation loan and ask him if he accepts the file. He accepted without mentioning extra fees he intends to charge us. After all the disbursements are made, he ends up charging us the amount not mentioned in the terms of service in the very beginning before we became his customers. We tried to resolve it with him by discussing, but this guy has such short term vision in his business, that he prefers to maintain charging the fees not mentioned previously than resolving customer satisfaction and keep his repeat customers. If he intends to charge the fees not mentioned even though he has been advised it is a multiple disbursement mortgage file, he can mention it upfront the possible additional costs and it is up to the customer to decide whether to choose him or not from the beginning... rather than not transparent about the costs and imposing the fees on us later on and subtracting forcefully the fees.

Also, this notary is not a bilingual notary in that he has difficulty working with and hesitancy in accepting English files.

His fees are also rather expensive compared to services offered by other notaries we have experienced.

Unfortunately, although we have done business with him more than once, we do not intend to return. What an unfortunate outcome!
