We arrived at our appointment to sell our house and purchase an apartment. I called in advance to make sure they had everything they needed for the transactions. When we got there, the Notary had no clue we were selling a property. She blamed a new conveyancer. They charged us a move in fee from Strata. When we tried to correct her because there was no fee, the response was to deal with it ourselves and get a refund from strata. As we were walking out she stopped us, oops, she forgot to get us to sign something and gave us the documents she was supposed to keep. Oh, no, nevermind, it's all ok. 3 weeks after we moved we got a bill for some documents they forgot to charge us for. This notary is disorganized and unprofessional. Do not recommend.

Phoned to make an appointment, was told its drop in first come first serve on Tuesdays at 4 pm, you cant make an appointment. We go out of our way on a snowy day to arrive on Tuesday just before 4 pm and the door has a sign that they are not doing Notaries today and they lock the door on us us we are standing there reading the sign. Useless service, going out of town with our business.

I had a truly wonderful experience when I visited this notary office. I did not have an appointment but I just dropped in to see if I could get a quick piece of advice on a legal question. Not only was the receptionist very friendly and knowledgeable, but Barbara actually came out of her office and joined our conversation. I left feeling more than satisfied and very impressed with the professionalism and kindness that was shown to me. I highly recommend this notary for any legal advice you might need.

Fast service but I was mislead about the service I was going to receive. I emailed beforehand but of course there is some fine print they don't mention until you get there. "Only one page". So I went out of my way and planned a day around this visit and ended up inconvenienced, paying out of pocket and feeling lied to. I would have gone somewhere else if I had known they were going to do that to me/what exactly they were charging. If you email ahead to ask about pricing you should be told exactly what's up. This exchange was shady in my opinion and I wouldn't recommend this place.

EDIT FOR CLARIFICATION: I don't live in town and I don't have many days off. It already cost me money and time to get there, so by the time I got there, there was no point me going somewhere else. I just went with the service, but I did find it funny that no one mentioned that an extra page (a piece of paper with a stamp on it) would cost $60 when I emailed ages ago. I don't count that as free service for nursing students as there are stipulations, and you should mention that it's only one page in email correspondence before people use time and money to get to you.

TLDR: My criticism of this place was that if you offer free service for nursing students, please mention that if you don't have a drivers license and BC Service card on hand (perhaps, like me, they were getting renewed) it will cost you $60. All I was told is "it's free." They shared no other details and I felt blindsided and inconvenienced for reasons listed above.

Very disappointed! I had called two weeks prior to confirm that they could facilitate the purchase of my condo. I told them it will be time sensitive due to the nature of the closing date. The young lady on the phone said it wouldn't be a problem. When I called to book the actual appointment once the deal was done, they told me they could not accommodate me due to the short nature of the closing date. This left me scrambling to find another notary on short notice of only a few days. What was the point of making a promise you can't keep? Thank you D'arcy Frankland for accommodating me on short notice and closing my purchase. Thanks for nothing Barbara Burns! Thank your staff for completely wasting my time and making promises you can't keep. Do the public a favor and close your business.
