I am a self employed individual and over the years I have used a local accountant to file my taxes. I experienced basic service and my taxes were filed the same way every year. I was referred to Mike April by a friend and took the time to answer some detailed questions I had about how to best structure my income as a self employed single parent. He answered all my questions with the detail I needed and with the perspective of how a tax auditor would look at my expenses. As a professional mortgage agent I work with clients and I have my standard of service to my clients. I don't recall putting a one star review here, so it must have been my ex-wife as she had her own issues with the company that were separate from mine. Mike was actually very helpful with filing all my taxes, and forwarded my US ones to the appropriate people for processing. My issues were the fact that the taxes I had submitted to Mike were submitted on the very last day. Along with that, a number of information was requested from me to pass along to the CRA through Mike. Months later, the CRA says they never received any of it and claimed I owed about $1500 as I was working within Canada as a "non-resident". I have since resolved the issue.

Unfortunately, my mother and I had the worst experience from these guys. My mom and I started a cleaning business, and she went through them to get her taxes done, and they messed all the information up. The CRA said she owed $3,000 due to miscalculations. Which was never true, and was eventually resolved.

My husband and I filed our personal taxes, and April Tax Solutions waited past the deadline to hand them in. We have a massive mess to fix with the CRA due to a few minor issues that was from them as well.

I would not recommend April Tax Solutions.
