After going through a narcissistic marriage, I know firsthand that not everyone will truly understand what you’ve been through, or the emotional and mental weight that comes with it. That’s why I made the decision to intentionally seek out professionals who specialize in narcissistic abuse (at least that’s what Google said).

I booked a one-hour consultation with Sunshiaa ($339), hoping to finally open up about my situation in a safe, understanding environment. This was one of the first times I had ever spoken to someone about what I went through. I was nervous, my mind was racing, and the emotions I had buried for so long started to resurface.

Because of that, I expected empathy, patience, and compassion, but unfortunately, my experience was the complete opposite. I was nervous and when I lost my train of thought for a moment, Sunshiaa scoffed at me, which immediately made me feel small, embarrassed, and deeply uncomfortable. Instead of feeling supported, I left the call feeling humiliated and regretful that I had even booked the appointment.

To make things worse, the consultation lasted only 25 minutes, and by the end, she told me the retainer fee would be $3,000 and that she wanted me to pay it as soon as possible after getting almost no information or next steps. Minutes after our call, I received an email from her colleague with a payment link this time for $5,000.

Needless to say, I did not feel safe, understood, or confident that my sensitive situation would be handled with genuine care or professionalism.

If you are a survivor of narcissistic abuse and looking for a compassionate, trauma-informed professional PLEASE save your money and look elsewhere. My experience with Sunshiaa left me feeling worse than before I called.
