Bank asked me to have 2 years of my taxes filed to get approved for student loan funding. When I came to Altruistic Accounting, I had 8 years of unfiled taxes! I was worried that I would owe the CRA money, but when they prepared my returns I had over $9,000 of retroactive benefits and tax refunds!!

It was incredibly reliving to simultaneously get approved for student loan financing and get a huge refund too! They are also incredibly genuine people and I really hit it off with their staff! Thank you so much!!

I had a great experience with Altruistic. Hussain has helped me understand things that I’ve never understood before and put great care into making sure that I understood everything on my tax return and also more. He treated me with utmost respect and even taught me that comfort in funds began at the start and accounting was a big step to understanding that.

I filed my taxes with Hussain for one year and will never return. He seems to be the only accountant at the firm and was frustrating and demeaning to work with. He communicated with my husband but mainly ignored me in emails and conversations.

You don’t get to view your tax return until after you pay and file, and no copies are provided—even if you ask. I requested an official tax document after filing, and he completely ghosted me—no replies to emails or calls. The phone just goes to an automated message, with no way to speak to anyone.

Something is seriously wrong with this business. I do not recommend Altruistic Accounting!!

Working at the British High Commission has made my taxes so complicated! I want to first start by thanking the entire staff at Altruistic Accounting for the countless months they spent on my case, given it's high complexity! As a foreign diplomat we do get special privileges when it comes to tax, but understanding when I should or should not pay tax is difficult. Their staff spent over 6 months evaluating my case before finding out that because I was hired through my spouse who works at the foreign embassy of another country, I am exempt from Canadian taxes!!
