I don't normally write Google Reviews, but I had such a negative experience using A Taxing Situation and want to make sure that anyone who finds taxes stressful will see this before making up their mind on using their accounting services. Details of my situation below:

I chose to go with Rob and A Taxing Situation for my income tax filing last year. Ignoring the condescending tone he would speak to me in, I thought that Rob seemed to know his stuff and I proceeded with their services.

When he sent me a copy of my return before filing, he missed a few things that I had to point out - he never asked me for charity donations, medical expenses, work from home expenses, and who knows what other credits were missed that I didn't know about - all things that an accountant is supposed to inform you on and ask you about when filing your taxes.

Rob also assured me that as part of their services, that any audits are complimentary. Guess what - I then got a notice of reassessment that never arrived in the mail and also had not been flagged by my accountant! It wasn't until months later that I found out about this when I emailed Rob asking how long it takes for a tax refund to process and he let me know that I had a notice of reassessment and balance owing that had been accruing interest.

In late July, I met with Rob on what could be done about this - he said that he would take care of the reassessment in 1-2 days. It has now been over 6 weeks, no updates on the reassessment, and he has ignored all my emails since the meeting. Interest continues to accrue on my balance because of this accountant's negligence and I am now seeking help from more qualified accountants.

Hopefully this review can help someone out there save some money, time, and stress by choosing a different accounting/tax service.

I own a business and he has just told me I have been over paying for years!!! He also explained everything so I can understand it and he will now take over all my business tax filing.
