I am writing this from my secondary email account for anonymous purposes. I typically do not write reviews unless I felt things have been treated unfairly. I understand this likely won't be your experience and most other reviews will be positive, so read my review as a grain of salt.

I’m very frustrated with the service I received from LeClair Thibeault regarding my condo closing. On the day of closing, I received a call asking for my home insurance policy to avoid potential interest charges if the lender didn’t release the funds on time. I quickly provided the necessary documents and even had to amend my insurance policy to include first loss payable to avoid these charges.

My main issue is that this request was made on the closing day itself. I wasn’t asked for these documents earlier, even though I had confirmed after submitting my signed condo documents if anything else was needed and was told everything was in order.

To make matters worse, I later found out that the lender failed to send the funds on time, resulting in an additional $300+ charge to complete the transaction. This was especially confusing since the last-minute insurance request was supposed to prevent such charges.

While the issue has been resolved, I’m very dissatisfied with how it was handled. This was my first home purchase, and the experience was positive until this last-minute chaos. I expected better communication and service.

We used LeClair Thibeault for the purchase of our home approximately 5 years ago, and everything seemed to go smoothly and well.

Fast forward five years, and we are now selling that home. It was brought to our attention that there was an encroachment onto the neighbors property (on the RPR that was provided back then), that was NEVER brought to our attention by our lawyer when we purchased. If it had been noticed, it would have been the seller's responsibility to deal with at that time. But since it was missed and wasn't dealt with back then, we had to deal with it now, which cost us a few thousand dollars.

I called Leclair Thibeault multiple times, and spoke with multiple people about how there was an issue, to see if there was any way that they could help us. I spoke with multiple assistants, as well as left messages to the lawyer directly. They assistants kept saying somebody would call me back to discuss, and nobody EVER did. EVER.

As mentioned above, the fact that this was missed five years up, ended up costing us a few thousand dollars. Then on top of that, they never even had the decency to call me back after reaching out MULTIPLE times.

I would not recommend using Leclair Thibeault unless you're willing to take a gamble on whether or not they are going to miss something important, that you are then going to end up paying for later.

Not impressed. Used this firm to help with a condo sale and mainly worked with Sue. I was continuously reaching out to follow up on items that were still not complete 2 weeks after the possession date. For the amount I was charged for "services rendered" I would expect a higher level of accountability and organization.

Bill LeClair was a delight to meet with. He's knowledgeable, eloquent and has a good sense of humor. Setting up an appointment was simple and straightforward. Jody is an excellent support staff, she's very prompt with her emails and returning of calls.

I recently purchased a home and he made the generally painful process of the paperwork associated with home purchases - painless. He was detailed and informative, and patient with my general lack of knowledge even though I'm sure he's had to explain some things a thousand times.

As a bouns they had some excellent painted art work hanging on the walls within the waiting and meeting areas.

Will definitely be a repeat customer!
