Disorganized and Unreliable: I hired this company to help with my small business finances (electrical contractor), and it was a huge mistake. They missed multiple deadlines, didn’t reconcile my accounts properly, and made countless errors in my reports. When I asked for clarification, their responses were vague and unprofessional. Their lack of attention to detail cost me time and money, and I had to hire someone else to fix their mistakes. I would not recommend this bookkeeper to anyone looking for reliable, accurate financial services.

Checks and Balances Book Keeping IS AMAZING! They have handled my Taxes and they were a mess. They straightened it out and made the whole situation quite a lot more approachable. I don't know Bill...but I hear he was the previous owner...not sure how things were with him But Suzanne and the team are awesome! Can't recommend enough. We were very disappointed with the service provided by this bookkeeping firm. Due to the quality of their work, we had to engage our accountant to redo the books, which was an unexpected additional expense. The fees charged were substantial, and the delivered work contained numerous errors and was incomplete.

The firm's communication was minimal, and there appeared to be a lack of staff management. As the filing deadline approached, we received no updates or responses, which caused significant stress. Additionally, there seemed to be a high turnover rate among their staff, leading to frequent changes and requiring us to restart communication multiple times, wasting considerable time and effort.

Ultimately, we were billed more than double the expected rate. Our new bookkeeper assessed that the work should have cost less than half of what we were charged. This was the most unsatisfactory experience I've had with a bookkeeping firm in over twenty years of business.

Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend considering alternative options for your bookkeeping needs.

Brandy is always so charming and personable. Everyone is so friendly, efficient and effective.
This year I had to have my Mother’s ’final return’ done. It included some tricky forms, bank communications, house sale, quite complicated. I've been dealing with Bill for a lot of years and he's a knowledgeable accountant but there have been several mistakes made over the years on my taxes and although I paid for and completed my taxes he forgot to file them on multiple occasions resulting in a lot of headaches and penalties for which they never made it right for. A new owner took over the company last year and once again my 2020 taxes were not filed and they have yet to make it right and are extremely rude and unhelpful to deal with. I would avoid this business .
