Spend the extra money and use another real estate lawyer. I used this law firm for the sale/purchase of a home. Although the purchase part went ok the sale was a nightmare. I felt as if I was always chasing her office when I needed something and when it came to me receiving payment for my house it was delayed stating missed banking time, accidentally forgetting the cheque was written when someone went to pick it up. The most frustrating part is that part of my Mortgage conditions were for a credit card to be paid off by the law firm at the time of sale. Over the next few months I was assured that a cheque had been sent to the credit card company and I need not worry. Kim never responded to my countless emails and it wasn’t until a new assistant started (months later) that I was sent my final closing documents and receipts. The credit card had never been paid and I was told that it was my fault and that she was not responsible for paying my bills unless stipulated in the mortgage agreement (which it was). I simply asked that the accrued interest be paid by her office as this was their mistake. I’ve had radio silence ever since.

Save yourself a lot of trouble and go with someone else. I used this law firm for the closing of my house on June 4th of last year(2021). I asked many times over the phone and even sent an email before my closing date to make sure the air conditioner and furnace was in fact being taken over by the new buyer.
This was very important and actually the only condition I had in selling my house.
Well of course this was never actually taken care of and I found myself with a huge bill months later since they were coming in my email and I wasn’t looking for them(Yes,my bad). But when I discovered this huge oversight that I had asked about sooo many times, I reached out to my lawyer and I was told time and time again that it simply wasn’t their job. They acknowledged that yes I did send emails and inquire, but they didn’t bother answering since it wasn’t their job. Which apparently it wasn’t, but I asked over the phone and sent emails to make sure this was taken care of and was assured that it was by them. They never once told me it wasn’t their job until I called months later saying it was never taken care of.
They should have at the very least told me that it wasn’t their job, they would not be looking into it at all and told me who to contact to follow up and make sure it was done.
So now that I was calling them obviously upset they told me that they would reach out to the buyers lawyer and help me, always making sure to mention that it wasn’t actually their job.
They did not actually help me at all, the real estate clerk and Kim herself stopped answering my emails and text(Nov 23rd 2021) even though the issue was not resolved at all and I made it clear how much stress and anxiety this was causing. The only person at this firm who helped me was the lady who answered the phone and finally sent me an email with some information so I could continue to try and resolve this matter myself.
So two months after they stopped answering me, I can finally say I have officially resolved this extremely serious issue myself. But it definitely was not because of the appalling customer service I received. This has been one of the most stressful situations I have ever been in and they were not sympathetic or helpful at all.
Find yourself a lawyer that has at least a little accountability.
