I wish I had read the reviews before choosing this firm...

I recently worked with this firm for a property transaction, and unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The final invoice was significantly higher than what I had paid for similar services in the past with other firms, and I found it difficult to understand how the total cost was justified. I wasn’t provided with a clear breakdown, and some charges—like for photocopies, postage, and emails—felt excessive, especially since I could have picked up the documents myself. I did express my concerns, and while they did reduce the invoice slightly, it still didn’t seem reasonable to me.

Throughout the process, there were numerous mistakes in the contract, including an incorrect sale amount. Even though these issues were brought up, the deal ended up being completed based on what was agreed upon verbally—not what was written in the contract. Despite this, the firm still closed the deal without making any amendments or corrections to the document.

I also had to switch lawyers halfway through because the original one went on vacation, which only added more confusion and delays. It was frustrating to have to explain the previous lawyer’s mistakes to the new one.

At times, I felt dismissed simply because I didn’t fully understand the legal language—when in reality, my confusion stemmed from actual errors in the documents. The process ended up being far more stressful than it needed to be.

Because of the incorrect sale amount in the contract, I overpaid the previous owner. Although this was supposed to be corrected, we had to make a private agreement between ourselves—without any support from the lawyers—so I could recover the money I had overpaid due to their mistake.

I’m sharing this review in hopes that it helps others understand the importance of transparency, accountability, and clear communication when dealing with legal matters. Everyone deserves to fully understand what they’re paying for and to feel supported throughout the process.

I used them to handle the sale of my house, they withheld $1340 as part of the sale until the fuel oil tank was topped up. My realtor told me that the lawyer handle the top up, and the realtor told me there was nothing else i needed to take care, and then notified me at the last minute that this needed to be done, which it was promptly taken care of. The receipt was then emailed to the lawyer handling my account, and was even sent as a reply to the very email requesting this receipt. This email was ignored, so i sent another one a couple weeks later, this was also ignored, as was the one sent after that.

Three months after i was supposed to get my money I called and the lawyer acknowledged receiving my emails, I guess ignoring clients is standard procedure T.A Firth. Anyway they then claimed to have "trusted me" and claimed to have given me all the money that i was entitled to for the sale of my house. I asked if they could provided proof of this and they said they could email it to me and i would have it in about 30 minutes, that was over a week ago. My bank records clearly show that the money deposited by T.A. Firth is short this amount, honestly you have to question the competence of those employed here is they assume I wouldn't spend the 60 seconds to look this up on my phone with online banking, I did and what was deposited into my account was short.

After this I called back and asked to talk to whoever was in charge of the lawyer handling my account as I have worked with people who suffered from substance and gambling addiction in the past and the excuses given to me range eerily similar, and given the stress caused by the current Pandemic this seemed like a more likely explanation as the only other explanation is a staggering level of gross incompetence. Now as I right this is has been close to another week with zero response from the OFFICE MANAGER.

SOMETHING IS FUNDAMENTALLY WRONG with this office, it has been OVER THREE and a HALF MONTHS and I have still not received all my money. The only thing I have been given is the type of excuses commonly used by addicts, and can be easily disproven by simply checking my banking records.

Phone in talk to Greg made an appointment to come in and see one of his lawyers. Made an appointment to discuss price, time frame, etc. Continue to phone around and happened to get Greg once again listed as another company. His his indignation was very evident that I would have the audacity to investigate other law firms in town. He suggested or told me more to the point that I should find a different lawyer. Apparently he had hurt feelings grow up Junior. I've never had to deal with an estate and by phoning different law firms I can educate myself of to the requirements of an executor. So no I wouldn't recommend this law firm
