My 82 year old mother and I met with Murray Lott at the Delta Law Office after the death of my father and my mother's husband of 62 years to manage the Will and Probate process. In very short order Mr. Lott's impatience, rudeness and outright condescending manner dominated the brief meeting. A complete lack of empathy only added to my discomfort but more significantly to my grieving mother. When trying to understand the process and options his response was "I’ve said this 10 different ways so come back when you've decided so you don't waste my time" Needless to say this restricted any further questions or discussion we may have had about processes we both knew nothing about. We both left the meeting feeling anxious, uncomfortable and intimidated. I decided very quickly that I could not subject my mother to any more of this unprofessional and demeaning behaviour, so I immediately retained a new lawyer and had our file collected and moved to their office. No Retainer Agreement was signed with Mr. Lott and once the file had been transferred it was evident no work had been done on it. Yet we received an invoice for $780 for the 45 minute meeting. I am generally not prone to writing reviews, let alone ones that don't portray a product or a person in a positive light, but in this case I am strongly compelled to warn others of this lawyer. Perhaps others have nothing but good things to say but from what I see of other reviews my mother and I are not alone in our views. I would like to add a positive comment though. We did have a meeting one year prior with a younger lawyer at this office who was professional, polite, empathetic and kind. It’s too bad he didn't handle this file as it likely would have averted this distasteful encounter.

Brutal showing of any human compassion. Talked down to my family while writing a will, was short tempered and completely unprofessional in his approach while my father was in hospice care. I wouldn't ask for us to be friends, however a little bit of compassion and professional demeanour would be appreciated. I doubt this is the first time this has been said.

I'd have to say one of the most horrific meetings I have ever had with a will planner of an excuse of a lawyer for my 91 year old Mother.
Thank God I followed my SPidi senses and got out of the consultation with her after a half an hour in which he charged over 500. (This was 3 years ago. I can't imagine much has changed)
Run 🏃‍♀️ don't walk. RUN 🏃‍♀️

We had an unfortunate experience here that could have been easily avoided and not have cost us thousands of dollars in legal fees. Between arrogance and lack of professionalism and knowledge on the matter at hand I highly recommend going elsewhere.
