Tried to get a Consent for Legal Advice with regards to my husband renewing a mortgage. Insinuated that my husband was exploiting the situation for his own benefit without knowing the full scope of the situation at hand. I was made to feel like I interrupting his Friday afternoon with his constant sighs before I even entered his office. I left in tears with his condescending unprofessional attitude. Do not recommend. Very unprofessional, look elsewhere, waste of time and humiliating.

Used the younger lawyer to try and settle a property dispute. He talked me into sending the other land owner letters to try and scare him. After i paid him to send two letters that did no good it was then he told me that the other land owner was right and i had no title to their land. Would have been alot cheaper if he was honest with me at the beginning.

Complete waste of time chasing these people around to close our real estate sale. They do not call back after giving us a closing date. Would not answer calls from our buyer, our return our calls. Then decided to tell our buyer after finally reaching them that they cannot do it.

Wasted everyone’s time. Would definitely not use them for anything in the future.

Lauren Trueman is a lovely woman with solid expertise in crafting Wills, but considering the many DYI, low-cost online tools to write your own Will, hang onto your wallet (especially if you need minor amendments to an existing Will that Lauren has already written.)

That was the circumstance in which I found myself. For the minor amendments that were made (changing one figure from $5,000 to $12,000 and deleting a paragraph), I was charged the cost of an entire new will: $600 + HST. When I protested, $150 was knocked off the fee.

My estimate of the time investment for the word-processed amendments was ~20 minutes plus ten minutes to print and collate the new document. I regret that I agreed to pay $450. I should simply have stood up and left the office. No doubt Lauren Trueman - a warm and personable lawyer - laughed all the way to the bank knowing that I could have written my own codicil to amend my Will (at no cost).

Meanwhile, I feel like another aging senior citizen who was taken to the cleaners. It goes without saying that I will not return to Wilbur and Trueman.
