I recently had a disappointing experience with Jaclyn's legal services regarding a real estate transaction. Despite being referred by a trusted colleague, the management of my file was subpar and the fees were significantly higher than those of local counterparts.

Jaclyn's basic fee was $1,600, whereas other local lawyers charge $1,000 or less. Additionally, the disbursement costs were notably high. Despite the quick closing and the fact that it was a simple cash deal with no financial institutions involved, my initial inquiry prior to retention indicated there would be no concerns or additional costs. Throughout the process, Jaclyn did not make herself available, and I never had the opportunity to speak or meet with her directly.

There were minor encumbrances on the title which the firm acknowledged making no effort to remove. To make matters worse, I was charged an additional fee of $452 for actions that should have been included in the initial service. This left me with an unnecessary anticipated cost of $1,500 to clear the title.

Overall, I found the service expensive and lacking in client advocacy. I cannot recommend Jaclyn’s services based on my experience.

Need to confirm details, ask clients questions before making decisions and advise clients if they’re not going to be available for critical time periods. If a client calls on Friday afternoon there’s a reason for it and they need to respond. That didn’t happen.

I had a brutal experiences with them last year. They filed our returns several weeks late and it was only with pestering that we received any communication back from them about the missed deadline. They charge a premium and the level of service was what I'd expect at fire sale prices.
As far as I can tell they did the work accurately, but the returns were run of the mill and they didn't find any surprise savings or anything like that.
Maybe for more complicated stuff or if you need multiple services they are good, but for straight tax returns I would try any other reputable accountant ahead of them.

I stuck with Inclusive Advisory for a number of years, despite increases to the cost of filing personal taxes out of a sense of familiarity and loyalty. Last year, there were numerous errors with how my taxes were done. I had caught one error prior to signing off on them filing but another had slipped through resulting in a mess with the CRA.

I am not an accountant who is familiar with all the codes and details of filing a personal return, that is why I paid a considerable premium for Inclusive Advisory's services. I would expect them to at least be able to file a rather simple individual tax return without error.

This year I switched and went to a much cheaper (less than half what I was paying Inclusive) tax service who actually did my taxes to a degree of perfection. There are far better options out there and at a much lesser cost.

If anyone is looking to use this firm, I would highly recommend making sure you request their billing rates and billing practices in writing prior to proceeding with their services. I had done some research online and after emailing them to determine their rate for filing personal taxes, they phoned me and informed me it was $175. The aversion to email me what their rates are should have triggered a red flag. But it didn't, so I used Inclusive Advisory's services to file two tax years. The filings were done weeks apart. The filing for the first year proceeded satisfactorily. However, the rate for the second year was $100 more than the first year. When I asked why, they informed me it because there was more than one employment schedule (there was only T4) and they apologized if I was under the "impression" that my invoice would be similar to the previous year. An "impression" is an interesting way for an accounting firm to characterize their billing pratices. Additionally, I didn't think it would be similar, I thought it would be exactly the same. I did move that year but all of my documentation was uploaded to them and meticulously organized - it is somewhat surprising that relecting two residences in a tax filing would be a significant undertaking for an accountant but at the very least, if the price for services increases by 60%, a notification to the client in advance would have been appreciated and warranted.
