Ah, United Legal Services – the paralegal firm that emails "10-day litigation notices" like it’s handing out flyers for a pizza deal. Imagine my surprise when I received a threatening legal notice via email (yes, email) over a Telus account I didn’t open, didn’t use, and frankly didn’t even recognize. Bonus points for sending it “without prejudice” – how very courtroom-chic of you.

Now, while I was knee-deep in investigating how FOUR Telus accounts magically appeared on my credit report (Harry Potter, is that you?), I noticed something fascinating: your reviews. A flood of “five-star” love letters with eerily identical tone, punctuation, and spelling. Either you’ve hired a poetic fan club, or someone’s working overtime copy-pasting praise.

Meanwhile, the real reviews tell a different story – one of intimidation, sky-high interest rates, and vague threats dressed up as legalese. To call this “aggressive” would be kind. To call it “professional” would be fiction.

But the cherry on top? Your flat-out refusal to acknowledge identity theft as a valid concern – despite clear documentation and regulatory protections. If your mission is to blur the line between legal services and scare-mail tactics, congratulations: mission accomplished.

In the spirit of transparency (something you might try someday), I’ll be sharing my full experience with Consumer Protection BC, Telus Fraud Management, and the credit bureaus. Because I believe that paralegal work should protect the vulnerable – not exploit them.

Pro tip: real legal action comes with a court-stamped document, not an email and a password-protected e-transfer request.

Trying to make me pay $15k($13k in interest) for a Telus bill. Contacted Telus directly and told them I’ll pay the actual amount I owed to them and they said I can do that. Instead of going through the collection company that’s very scammy. This way I can open a dispute with transunion & provide the bill has been paid from Telus. No way I’ll deal with collections. Always better to deal with the company directly xx

In my opinion, my experience dealing with this company was atrocious. In trying to get a debt settled I was threatened and spoken down too. I felt mislead and cheated after dealing with their agents. I had requested multiple times a copy of the original debt and other information I am legally entitled to. I was refused and told I'm not entitled to it and not getting it

Complete scammers. Called telling me i owed money. From an old account i havent lived at in 23 years. Pure fishing scammers. They contacted my xwife. We haven't spoken since 1997. You should be shut down and charges filed on you.

I keep getting emails from them about owing money when I've never used the company they are supposedly representing and it is a different name completely. Not sure why they are emailing me continuously. Maybe it's a scam?

Edit in response - yes you have never had me as a client which is why I wrote this review. I've emailed back explaining you have the wrong person which was clearly ignored. Please escalate this and remove me from your mailing list. Thank you.
