Fantastic Service, we felt at ease at every step of the way. I was warmly greeted by a friendly staff who made the initial process smooth and efficient. They accommodated us and stayed late to meet our schedule and needs.
What truly stood out during my visit was the way in which the notary handled the documentation. Their attention to detail was impeccable, and they took the necessary steps to verify and authenticate every aspect of the paperwork. This commitment provided me with peace of mind, knowing that my documents were being handled with the utmost care.
Thank you

Ignore the five-star reviews. Most of the poor reviews have this in common: every customer felt they needed to constantly check-in with Farley-Martin to make sure their work got done. We sold our family home with the closing date after our move out of province and therefore needed to do a lot of paperwork at distance to make it work. We needed the sale documents sent to another notary out of province for signing because we would already be out of town. We asked to do everything remote, but they wanted to make the process so complicated that I rapidly abandoned that idea (I have bought multiple properties, completed power of attorneys and had other legal attestations with various notaries remotely and it was always a much simpler process than what Farley-Martin wanted to do). They informed us that because the documents would come from the buyer`s notary, they would have no way to know when they would come and when they would be ready. For this reason, we had to blindly book an out of province notary appointment hoping that they would have received them in time for our appointment. We called multiple times to ask if the documents were received to which they responded no. When the documents finally arrived from the buyer, they were unable to send even a courtesy email to let us know they had received them. The out of province notary asked us multiple times if Farley-Martin could reach out to them to let them know what exactly they needed to do to facilitate the sale. I had to call Farley-Martin at least three times to get anyone to reach out to the other notary and each time they gave me the run-around saying it wasn’t necessary and that they would send instructions the same day with the documents. When the money finally exchanged hands from the buyer, they told us they were unable to deposit it electronically. It could only be mailed, or hand delivered to the bank which would require an additional fee. They were also not able to pay the proper amount for the bridge loan we had (slightly underpaid). To top it all off, one month after the sale, we called their office to ask if they could send an electronic copy of the sale documents to us. We needed this to complete a military moving process. They kept trying to give us the run-around asking exactly what was needed, saying it was too big of a file, asking why we needed it, asking if they could send it to the intended recipients instead... When I pay $1200 for notary services, and I ask for a copy of my documents, I expect them to be given to me without issue.
Do not spend a penny here.

I would strongly recommend NEVER using Farley Martin notaries.

I’ve found this company’s practices completely unacceptable. In my experience, they are disorganized and unprofessional.

I hired them for a conveyance about two months before the closing date for the sale of my property.

The same day I hired them, I found out the buyer for my property had listed them as her notary also (which isn’t normally allowed). I phoned Farley Martin back that same day to cancel so I could hire a different notary. The person I spoke to asked for the buyers name, the address of the sale etc. She then told me not to cancel my booking with them, they didn’t have a file for this other person, I was the only one who had phoned and booked them and the buyer would have to go elsewhere because I had booked first. I said okay and left it at that.

Fast forward to two weeks before the closing and they call me and tell me they are cancelling my booking with them because the buyer has some sort of prior relationship with Kristy (a notary public there).
They said I had no choice and were sending my file to some other company I’ve never heard of. It’s now less that two week before the closing and I haven’t had so much as an email or phone call from this other notary.

Essentially, even though I booked them almost two months beforehand and they didn’t let me cancel my appointment when I alerted them to the problem, they cancelled my booking anyways. They apparently rank their clients from most important to least, and you can get bumped out if someone more important than you books in afterwards.

If you value your time, and don’t enjoy being stressed right before major financial transactions, do not hire these people.

I wish I had read more reviews and asked around before I did business with them. Hopefully this helps others not make the mistake I did.

My wife and I worked with them when we purchased our first house several months ago here in Langford. Kristy Martin was exceptional and went out of her way to make sure we fully understood the process and was very patient with answering our many questions as first time home buyers. The entire process was smooth and stress free, largely in part to Kristy and her staff. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for assistance with a home sale or purchase.

Well, our transaction did get done, but I am not sure it would have if we had simply left it in their hands. There seemed to be some intermediate tasks that weren't properly handled by the support staff, and a woman named Janette seemed untrained but pushy to the point of being rude. We found that we had to check in and follow up on their work because things were a little disorganized and communication was lacking. If it wasn't for Kristy we probably would have walked. In the end it worked out but it seemed to be a bit more trouble that it was worth for a simple transaction.
