CHECK THEIR MATH WHEN YOU'RE DONE.
Their website says that they specialize in real estate law. After they handled the sale of our house, and all the paperwork was done, and all the money was transferred, I was going through my papers when I thought it looked like they had deducted an extra $1780 from our funds for “property taxes”. I was doubtful that a law firm could make such an error, but decided to ask them to explain the missing funds. To my shock, it turned out that I was right.

In spite of them acknowledging the error, I had to wait five days for them to deposit the missing funds into my account. At this point we had lost any confidence that we had in a firm that “specializes in real estate law”, and I asked for at least a partial refund of the legal fees we had paid for this transaction. We were told that “the transaction went through in the end”, so we wouldn’t be getting any refund for their services.

Even though they admitted that the closing was done wrong.
Unprofessional, to say the least.

How was this mistake missed in the first place? And then when the client catches a mistake worth more than $1700 missing funds, how is it okay to tell the client essentially, “Too bad, we acknowledged the mistake, so get over it”?

And how am I paying full price for a service that they admitted was done wrong?
